Guernsey Utilities

The main Guernsey Utilities are supplioed by single providers.
 
Water is supplied by Guernsey Water. The Island has a central reservoir, which is topped by by secondary storage areas in a network of Quarries in the north of the Island.

Guernsey Electric supply the Islands Electricity needs, through their own power station and via a cable link with France and the European Grid. Interesting work is currently being undertaken to explore tidal power which offers great potential for the Islands. Mains Gas is available across most of the Island. This is supplied by Guernsey Gas. A bottled gas service is also available for areas not covered by the mains service..

Communications
 
There are 4 main communication providers:
 
The largest is Cable and Wireless who provide most of the land line telephones and a substantial mobile network.
 
Wave Telecomm have a growing Mobile Network and can offer several different services, whereas Newtel is mainly an Internet Services provider.
 
The newest competitor in this Market is Airtel Vodaphone.
